Our Southern Safari Getaway promises an authentic and untamed African wildlife experience. This 8-day itinerary will take you through Tanzania’s less-explored, pristine parks of the Southern Circuit – Ruaha National Park and Mikumi National Park. From the large herds of elephants in Ruaha to the zebras and lions of Mikumi, you’ll be engrossed in a natural spectacle, experiencing an intimate connection with the wild. Full Itinerary:
Southern Safari Getaway (8 Days)
Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam
Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam, our representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Relax and rejuvenate after your journey.
Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, you’ll take a short flight to Ruaha National Park. After settling into your lodge, embark on an evening game drive, catching your first glimpses of the wildlife.
Day 3-4: Explore Ruaha National Park
Two full days of exploration in Ruaha National Park await. Morning and afternoon game drives will give you ample opportunities to spot large herds of elephants and buffaloes, along with a wide variety of other wildlife. The park is known for its diverse landscapes, from rolling hills to rivers and plains.
Day 5: Ruaha National Park to Mikumi National Park
Post breakfast, a short flight will take you to Mikumi National Park. After checking into your lodge, an afternoon game drive introduces you to the park’s inhabitants, including lions and zebras.
Day 6-7: Discover Mikumi National Park
Spend two days immersing yourself in the beauty of Mikumi National Park. Game drives will provide the chance to observe wildlife including wildebeests, impalas, elephants, giraffes, and more. If you’re lucky, you might also spot the elusive leopard or a pack of wild dogs.
Day 8: Mikumi to Dar es Salaam & Departure
After a morning game drive and breakfast, you’ll take a flight back to Dar es Salaam. Depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy a brief tour of the city before heading to Julius Nyerere International Airport for your departure, carrying cherished memories of your Southern Safari Getaway.
