Full Itinerary:
Tanzania’s Northern Circuit Compact (9 Days)
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by a Gosam Safari representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Rest and prepare for the adventures to come.
Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Spend the day discovering the park’s diverse ecosystems, including the lake itself (a birdwatcher’s paradise), ground-water forests, grassy plains, and alkaline hot springs. Don’t miss the park’s famous tree-climbing lions! Overnight at a camp/lodge near the park.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Ngorongoro Crater
Head out to Ngorongoro Conservation Area after breakfast. Descend 600m into the crater for an afternoon game drive, where you can witness the highest density of big game in Africa, including lions, elephants, rhinos, and many more. Overnight at a lodge on the crater rim.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park
Post breakfast, you’ll set off for the iconic Serengeti National Park, passing through the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu. En-route, you’ll visit Olduvai Gorge, known as the ‘Cradle of Mankind.’ Arrive at Serengeti for an afternoon game drive, followed by an overnight stay at a camp/lodge.
Day 5 – 7: Full Days in Serengeti National Park
Spend three full days exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti. Morning and afternoon game drives will provide countless opportunities to spot the ‘Big Five’ and witness the daily struggle between predators and prey. Overnight at a camp/lodge in the park.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park – Arusha
After a morning game drive and a hearty breakfast, you’ll fly back to Arusha. Enjoy a farewell lunch in the city, followed by an optional visit to the Maasai Market to pick up souvenirs. Spend your final night in Tanzania at your Arusha hotel.
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure, carrying lifetime memories of the magical Northern Circuit of Tanzania.
